The weekly rate of Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) for days of sickness from 6 April 2012 is £85.85.
What needs to be done?
So in summary you will need to: -
• Check and confirm your employee meets the qualifying conditions
• Work out the amount of SSP they are entitled to
• Pay your employee the amount calculated at the same time as you would normally pay their salary
• Record the SSP payment in your wages records
